The principles for establishing international & interoperable rights statements

Over the past twelve months representatives from Europeana, DPLA and Creative Commons have been exploring the possibilities for a collaborative approach to rights statements that can be used to communicate the copyright status of cultural objects published via our platforms. This work is close to the heart of both Europeana and the DPLA as we both seek to share clear and accurate information about copyright status with users.

Format Migrations at Harvard Library: An NDSR Project Update | The Signal

Within digital preservation there are a number of strategies that can be employed in order to protect your data including refreshing, emulation or migration, to name a few. As the National Digital Stewardship Resident at Harvard Library, I am responsible for developing a format migration framework which can be continuously adapted for migration projects at Harvard.

The Last Decade of Digital Preservation: A Personal View from Australia | Preservation, Digital Technology & Culture

In 2003 an international survey described digital preservation in Australia in these words: “For a country with a relatively small population, Australia has a relatively large number of leading-edge online projects across all sectors.” Is this still the case in 2014?
